Menu Planning: March 23-29

Okay! I think we’re close to being back to whatever passes for normal around these parts. This is a good thing. I hope.

I didn’t give myself a list last week because I knew things would be crazy around here BUT I did say I would be testing recipes. And test I did. For the first time in a LONG time I actually cooked most of the last 7 nights. This is both fun and abnormal around here as usually I’m working and Todd pulls KP a) because he’s awesome and b) so I can get comics and such done. As such, I was able to test the following foods for potential inclusion in What to Feed Your Raiding Party:

  • Shrimp with Spicy Pomegranate Sauce, Rice Noodles and Veggies
  • Fried Corn with Peppers
  • Pesto-Cheese Toast
  • Garlic-Studded Pork Roast
  • Curried Brussels Sprouts
  • Bourbon Chicken
  • Cheese-stuffed Pesto Burgers
  • Not-Baked Beans
  • Slow-Cooker Corned Beef Brisket

Busy week in the kitchen! Plus I made a delicious cheesecake for Todd’s birthday this past week and, if your curious about how to make awesome cheesecakes, you can read my recipe and tips over at Nibbles ‘n Bites.

On to the upcoming week. I’ve been testing a lot of recipes as they’ve come to me. Todd’s taking over the cooking for the next week so instead of testing more this week (though I am itching to do some gnocchi trials this weekend, maybe) I’m going to look at what I’ve got down so far and see what else I need to do so I can make a more targeted list for my next turn at the range.

Also, it’s time to move forward with the next comic script, set up the support packages and figure out just what in the world is up with that minuscule donate button in the sidebar (I think it’s a percentage issue, gonna do some tests). That might be enough for one week, plus whatever I decide to throw in.

Here it is in list form:

  • Evaluate the recipes that have been tested so far
  • Script Chapter 2 comic
  • Write up support/reward options
  • Make testing list for following week

And, Thursday, the Food & Game pairings resume with DragonLance. See you then!
