Just realized that I must have not been paying too much attention, what in my excited haze of accomplishment and all, and made a clerical error on last week’s progress percentage. Which is why, if I’m not the only one paying attention to my progress, you might think today’s first number represents a bit of a step backwards:
85% analyzed recipes
See, now, last week I though I had 89% but really it was only 77%. I’m not even sure it’s possible to have a negative work week with this. Oh, well, unless the program were to eat some of the database entries *knock on wood* But, no, I did actually get another 6 recipes entered and analyzed so we’re up to 64 nearly ready to go. Nearly I say because some ingredients just don’t show up in the reference files and I have to track down said ingredients and create the references by hand. This is not a problem, really, just another thing on the to-do list.
As for inking, I didn’t have high hopes going into this weekend as we had out of town plans on Saturday which meant all around-the-house bits needed to be crammed into Sunday. Guess what? We went slightly less out of town and I managed to make my quota for each day. Woot!

We’re past the halfway mark!!! *happy dance* At exactly 46 pages we’re also halfway through Chapter 3 and, well, there’s something to be said for the more streamlined world this story takes place in. Thank heavens for small favors! No scans this week, though, that’s one thing I didn’t quite get to. Hopefully I’ll catch up on that task after this weekend and be able to share a couple of panels next week 🙂
Speaking of next week! Another one I’m going to hedge my bets on. This is our last weekend to get stuff done before the Pumpkin Party and there are some time-consuming items still on the list. But I’m hopeful, really, that I can get my usual 6 pages done (8 would rock, too, as it’d finish Chapter 3, but I’m trying not to be greedy) and round up the missing recipes needed to round out the book.
I’m surrounded by foodishness lately. Not only is it my week to cook, this week I’ll be making the 2nd of 3 or 4 trips to get provisions for that little party I mentioned. We did some fun foodie things on Saturday both in Havana and closer to home, and then over on the 64 Arts the art in question is cooking! We revisited my fool-proof soup method last week and this week discussed the 10 types (yes, really) of vegetables.
